Traditional Turks & Caicos Model Sailboat Races
The model sailboat raceday on Bambarra beach is ready to roll with a great line up of boats, food and music, socome along and enjoy this wonderful cultural festival.
From the beginnings long ago at the turn of the millennium, with 6 boats and a handful of friends on the beach the Valentines Day Cup has become a national event, beloved by residents and visitors alike. This year with over25 boats in the Middle Caicos Sailboat Association fleet, plus over 10 boats coming in with their captains, theraces are becoming more serious and skillful! The day is planned as follows:
10:30 am – beach set up, music playing, fun begins
11:00 am - - Captains meeting on the beach
11:30 am - first race Class “C” boats :under 24 inches
12:15 pm – second race Class “B” boats : under 40 inches
1: 00 pm – third race Ladies Cup – open class, women captains only
1:45 pm – fourth race Class “A” boats – over 40 inches
2:30 – 5 :30 pm -- Live band performance : Grand Land Band
3:00 pm -- Awards Ceremony
Bring your kids, your friends, your family – a combo ticket for the ferry with bus to the beach is available from Caribbean Cruisin’ to make things simple. Calling all sailing enthusiasts to try your hand in the races, it is fun and easy to learn…although tricky to master!! Boats are available in all classes and we encourage you to get involvedin the races.

This event is a totally not for profit event, organized each year by Middle Caicos Co-op & Middle Caicos Co-op Services, for the MIDDLE CAICOS SAILING ASSOCIATION.
